How to cure anxiety attacks and panic attacks with a straightforward technique of self treatment from www.selftherapy.org
Question by Curious: Can hypnosis cure my anxiety disorder?
I have heard a lot about hypnotherapy. Some are accurate and some may well be fictitious. I don’t know which ones are true and which ones are false. I have heard that hypnosis can solve a lot of mental disorder. Can it cure anxiety?
My second question is, can a hypnotist entirely take over the personality of his patient? I mean, can a hypnotist turn a peace-loving innocent kind of person into a violent and cruel kind of criminal?

I think that hypnosis can be achieved only by a willing participant and only on a level that you can stay aware of consciously. For example, on TV shows, a hypnotist will give the command “cheese” and the subject immediately acts like a mouse. Then a clapping of hands and he is normal again…well it is not like that. If you are under the influence of hypnotic drugs, the effects are stronger and you are a lot more easily persuaded to act in some variant manner, but your basic principles will take over if the hypnotist suggests that you do some thing that you discover wrong or that you fear. But as for a tool to condition the mind and emotional response to every day difficulties it can be a helpful therapy. You will always be the 1 holding the strings in your own show, and if you want to change then do not seek the truth anywhere but your heart, which I know to be one of gold no matter how hurt or angry you are.
1 far more factor: how is your writing coming along? I swear that you could be a fantastic poet if you want to be, and at the least it is a very good outlet for angst.

I am with you.It is frustrating and depressing at times. You might have heard about simple, but hard to accomplish technique rejecting and ignoring continuous/ fearful/repetitive thoughts. Let me simplify this. Imagine drawing a bridge. With each line drawn,it appears stronger and prominent. Right? And now is a HARDEST part.TAKE an ERASER and start rubbing it out line by line. There are things that triggers obsessive behaviour and by ignoring (‘rubbing out’) them the OCD bridge can be destroyed
Dont fear the anxiety or panic attack… May sound corny but make it fear you by not giving a damn if it comes or not.. Dont worry about what you believe other people think.. Everyone has their insecurities, though anxiety/panic is horrible; dont let it make you live life on the side line… My only regret about my panic attacks….. Is not kicking their asses earlier! You can do it!! I know you can, because your awesome and you deserve an amazing life…
I had panic disorder to the point where I couldnt work or go to school. Tried meds, therapy, breathing techniques, wishes to falling stars and prayers to God. Like anyone who has had a panic attack; I questioned why me? Why now? Finally I thought. Get busy fearing life, or welcome the challenge. There is nothing I can do about it, its the way I am. But I am not going to miss out on an education, movie, paycheck, and most of all the opportunity to fall in love. It cant be cured, it can be managed
Just tried it,and I feel a little better.

There’s a small and excellent online depression support group called Depression Hangout that is always open to anyone who is struggling with mental health problems (not just depression). It’s run in its own chaotic way by its members who meet regularly in the chat room and it’s a great place to seek and provide help and support, make new friends and even just have a laugh. (We all need that too!) To join just go to depressionhangout-dot-blogspot-dot-com.

@SpankRamen2 The fears you have are similar to mine. I don’t wish this on anyone, but it is comforting when you know you aren’t the only one going through it.

@foolraving Sorry. I listed everything but i guess youtube doesn’t like lists.

Hypnosis is excellent for anxiety.
It is impossible for a hypnotherapist to take over anyone, a hypnotic state is a natural one simply induced by a therapist. The subconscious mind protects us at all costs, so it is impossible for anyone to control, you are in charge at all times.
