Anxiety is very much an individual experience, and can be caused by a wide variety of physical complaints and life situations. It is of course quite normal and even necessary for our survival to be anxious in a frightening situation, but when continual and excessive worrying starts to dominate our everyday lives, the quality of our whole life experience is affected. Sometimes there is a history of anxiety in the family which can make us more predisposed to the condition.
People will often experience it as having no control over their anxious thoughts, and they may experience severe panic if they feel out of control in what they feel is a vulnerable situation.

I know you may be opposed to it, but smoking marijuana does help panic attacks. when i have one (which is rarely) i do smoke and take my inhaler. it calms my nerves and makes me less worried and stressed. this is the best natural cure, in my opinion and it is way better for you than some medications. don’t believe everything “health” officials tell you, they made marijuana illegal because of their lack of knowledge about it and personal financial reasons. 70 years ago. i think it’s about time to reevaluate.
i am of the opinion that marijuana may also help, but unfortunately it is illegal in most places. while i also think it’s legality should be reevaluated, we’ve also got to understand that some people don’t want to risk their freedom to take something that is currently illegal.

Yes – several. Some work and some don’t. The one that works for me anyway is called panicyl. It allowed me to finally get off that antidepresant crap.
Pot does not help. I have had panic attacks for years and smoking did nothing except make them a lot worse. I have had the worse panic attacks during the time when I did smoke pot regularly. Imagine walking up the stairs and having your body just shutdown. You breathing starts to speed up and you start to breath deeper to calm down. Your body feels like it is having convolutions. Your mind can not focus on anything except current fears. You finally manage to get to the bottom of the stairs and when you look around it is as if you can not even get enough focus to recognize that there are other people in the room. When someone starts asking if you are ok it takes 2 minutes to answer because when you look at them it as if you are looking through them. Words become background noise that make no sense. You really think pot is going to help you now? Anyone who thinks that has no idea what it is like. The truth is for everyone it is different what they needed. I tried everything before going to a doctor. Everything from melatonin to nyquil. The only time anything ever worked was when I would take enough that it would be considered an over dose. I would go days without sleep because of the panic attacks. I got to the point I would buy a big bottle of nyquil just to sleep for a night. 10 pills and 3-4 hours later I was up again taking the rest of the package to get another hour of sleep. I went to the doctors and it took a year to find the right meds. Now I have been fine for years. The point is you can hit and miss with natural remedies and some success stories. The best defense from all my experience is sleep. The more the mind is rested the less the attacks will come on. I am in college now and have a 3.75 gpa. That would never have been possible before without seeing the doctor. I thought I could do it on my own for a long time, in the end I just made things worse with non prescription meds. Working out a lot helps a ton too.
